Do you have sleeping problems?

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Trying to get a good nights rest is sometimes hard! Maybe you have too much on your mind, maybe you have the wrong mattress, or maybe you have back problems. You are not alone! Research shows that around 40 million Americans suffer from sleeping disorders and around 20 to 30 million suffer from occasional sleeping problems. But even just a slight sleep problem it can cause energy loss, mood changes, and your ability to handle stress. You might be thinking to yourself “It’s just a minor disorder, no big deal”. WRONG! Ignoring a sleeping problem is one of the worst things you can do for your body. If you want to stay healthy and do your best, you must have your sleep.

Here’s a few questions to ask yourself:

-Do you fall asleep or feel very exhausted while driving?
-Do you find yourself taking a nap almost everyday?
-Do you get told by others that you just look exhausted?
-Does your body require coffee or a type of energy drink just to function?
-Is it difficult for you to concentrate?
-Are you irritable throughout the day for no apparent reason?

If any of these are remotely true, then chances are you have a sleeping disorder. There are many different types of sleep disorders. Some of them are shift work, delayed sleep phase, jet lag, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and insomnia. There is a solution to all these sleep problems you may be having. You can start by tracking your sleep patterns and by making healthy changes to your sleeping habits. For example, try going to bed a little earlier. Also, maybe try avoid watching the T.V. The sound and light while your sleeping is causing your brain to continuously keep working when it should be resting, therefor your probably not getting the best sleep you can. Try eating a healthier diet and drinking the correct amount of water for your body. It’s bad for your weight if you eat late at night, but it can also be causing a sleeping problem because your body is still working to burn it off. The important thing to remember is to recognize the problem and make a plan to fix it!
