Amanie Bussey: Amanie began working at her father’s clothing store, then Oxford Street Clothing at Columbus Square Mall, at the age of 10 ringing up and greeting customers. Many customers today remember being helped by Amanie when she could barely see above the register. Amanie always knew she wanted to own her own business. It’s a dream come true to see her store a reality. With babie under foot, Amanie started E&S Mattress and Furniture Discounters, Inc. with just 6 mattress sets in one room. Today, 5 years later, E&S boasts a 15000 square foot showroom full of over 50 mattress sets, 20 sofa love and sectional groups, 15 Dinettes and an entire array of kids furniture, including 15 different bunk beds. Amanie’s motto continues to be “If we don’t have it, we can get it for you… fast!”
Shaun Bussey: The 3 time All-American and NCAA Runner-Up was a star Athlete at the University of Georgia where he attended school. Shaun traveled the world running for Nike and Adidas and placed 6th in the 1996 Olympics Trials Final. In 1997 Shaun ranked 4th in the United States and 27th in the world at 800 meters before a career ending Achilles injury. He moved back to Columbus to help his father run the development company Larry Bussey, Inc. With Amanie selling during the day and Shaun delivering mattresses and furniture at night, E&S slowly grew beyond it’s two original employees. This family owned venture has continued to thrive for the last 5 years. One way Shaun accomplishes this is by not turning down any unreasonable sale . Shaun’s Motto is “Make me an offer!”.
